What is the agenda

Last night I voted against a splash pad and sidewalk on the Helotes Economic Development Corporation. The items were brought to us by Mayor Schoolcraft.

I was the only one who vote nay to spend up to $300k of EDC money on a splash pad I don’t think is appropriate for a city our size, in that location and without any restrooms on-site.

I was one of two who voted nay to spend EDC money a sidewalk.

I said my piece at the meeting. The video the City records will give the context. I voted in no of the splash pad and sidewalk.

For many reasons I don’t think Helotes Economic Development Corporation funds should be spent on those two projects. Those are City or County funds projects, not ours. Out-voted, apparently I’m don’t know what I’m talking about.

UPDATE: On November I received a reply from Mayor Schoolcraft about the September 2019 board meeting where I voted against these two items. The video was “lost.” At least the minutes are publicly available.
